Have you looked into the gel injections? I haven't had knee problems, however I have seen ads for these injections and some people seem to achieve relief, even if temporary (months or some up to a year). Best wishes!

OMG, I'm really sorry to hear this. It sucks! And it's hard. I'm sending you lots of love.🫶🏻🩷Take it easy and be kind to yourself. ~ Walking is my elixir, so I totally get the frustration you must feel.

On a different note, my blog post about loglines is almost ready. The one we talked about. I was thinking of publishing it tomorrow unless you want to host it. Otherwise you can cross-post it whenever you like.😊😊Thank you! Thank you!

I'm so sorry to hear you're going through this, J.T. You're right, it does suck! Having said that, reading your post felt like I was reading my own past scenario. I was only 56 when told I needed a knee replacement. Otherwise, healthy and fit. I held out as long as I could; bow-legged, couldn't walk more than a few blocks, yadda, yadda.

Got myself on the list, waited a year, then felt so guilty that I wasn't "bad enough" compared to people who--God bless them, looked like they hadn't gotten off the couch in a decade--that I cancelled the surgery 10 days before. Struggled again while trying to travel the world. Got myself back on the list, waited another year and, terrified, did the damned thing! Said I would NEVER do it again if the other knee needed doing (so far, so good 🤞).

BUT, I gotta tell 'ya, a fair bit out from rehab (that's the hardest part) when I was able to travel again I was so incredibly glad I'd done it. Seven years later, I still am. It changed my quality of life 110%, I no longer have an elephant leg you could see through my jeans pre-surgery (it was always so swollen I wouldn't even wear dresses or skirts).

Sorry for such a long monologue, but I really want to encourage you to do it. I had one of the best ortho sports guys in the country and he told me the titanium joints are better than 20 years now and it's not even a big deal if it needs replacing in the 70s and 80s. Now that I'm past the fear of the unknown, I'd do it again in order to stay active.

And yes, I do now have a standing desk. And Birkenstocks saved my life. I wear them instead of slippers. Oh, and orthotics! Okay, I'll shut up now! 😉
