Fastrope (Rachel Hatch series) Rachel is an ex-Special Forces and Military Investigator soldier. She receives a call from an old teammate mentioning he may be in over his head - then the call cuts out. Rachel heads to Panama City and finds her friend dead after a training accident. She gets drawn into a conspiracy where her friend's teammates are not what they seem. With the assistance from a local female detective, they race to uncover the truth.
Scorched Earth (Dalton Savage series) Dalton is the sheriff of a small town bordering on an Indian reservation. The investigation into the dead body of a Native American youth on a controversial building site that used to be part of the reservation, kickstarts a story about drugs, motor cycle gangs, and organized crime. Dalton needs all his wits to survive. The series is a spin-off of the Rachel Hatch series.
I also finished reading Trial and Tribulation, part of the Breaking Point series. This is a series about a British pilot and his wife - both complicated and conflicted in different ways. The husband (Johnnie), comes from an orphanage background, and has never felt himself worthy of anything. Despite being one of the Aces, and snaring a beautiful, smart wife, is dark and moody, and he believes he will die in the war. His wife (Eleanor), a brilliant mathematician is driven by ambition to be recognized as a major player in wartime British politics. Her drive to succeed threatens to destroy their marriage. Best of the series so far.
Cassandra in Reverse by Holly Smale. So far, I like how it is structured. Very interesting. Next on my list is Elin Hilderbrand's new book The Five-Star Weekend. 📚📚📚📚
I very much enjoy Elin's work. And she's a master of marketing with her cute outfits.
To be honest, I've never heard of Holly until a few weeks ago. She developed an intriguing main character. I'm only one-third (slow reader😞) into the book, but curious to see where it goes.
I just finished The Push by Ashley Audrain and am half-way through The Audrey Hepburn Estate. Really enjoying it!

I am new to Elin's work, though I have a ton of her books. I was happily surprised by the depth and beauty of her writing.
