It’s Friday, friends, and you know what that means… let’s talk books!
I was seeing The Puzzle Master by Danielle Trussoni all over Instagram, so I bought it and read this week. It is *wild*. Think The Silent Patient meets The DaVinci Code with writers and puzzle makers. Mike Brink has acquired savant syndrome, which is totally fascinating, and the author’s research into mathematics and puzzles is impressive. And suffice it to say, I really never knew where the story was headed next.
I am also having a Fourth Wing hangover, and it is severe. So severe that I’m counting the days until I can re-read. It’s that good.
How about you? What are you reading this weekend?

Recently you described your reaction to reading Fourth Wing by Rebecca Yarros. I was drawn in by your words and tried to reserve it through my local library (I'm in Alberta, Canada); I was 170th on the waiting list! My husband suggested I check Amazon and after reading the sample, I ordered it. I have devoured and and pre-ordered the next book and am not sure how I'll wait 3 whole months! All I have to say is WOW!!! and thank you.
I am almost done and am loving it. There is background and the depth of the characters and not just the major characters but the minors that plays into the development of the story. I think this is my favorite one of hers.
I was lucky enough to get an arc of The Death of Us by Lori Rader-Day. I’m only 3 chapters in but loving it. So sorry you have to deal with the trolls/boys/creepers. 🙄
Just got The Wolves Come at Night but I’m currently reading The Rooster Bar by John Grisham in large print as I am in the process of having cataract surgery. Left eye done last week—right eye next week! Then your book!!🥰
I also read The Puzzle Master and loved it! Quite different. Now I'm reading The Lost Book of Eleanor Dare by Kimberly Brock, almost done. It's a good one also.
I'm also experiencing Fourth Wing hangover, but I'm so glad I pulled the trigger and purchased/read it!
I finished Same Time Next Summer by Annabel Monaghan this week and it was super good.
Started A Soul of Blood and Ash by Jennifer Armentrout. It's told through Cas instead of Poppy and I'm enjoying it much more than I thought I would (didn't think a retelling if the same story was neccessary- turns out it is)!
Kristy, let me tell you, it is bonkers how much I loved that book. It hits all my trope buttons, while still being wildly original. And the characters… and the dragons….

I am reading Nora Robert's Identity and The Widowed Dancer: Growing Through Grief with Gratitude by Bryan Martin.
I have identity-is it good?

That's high praise! Will bump it up the list. Cool!

Boys not boys… 😂🤷♀️
They’re called Yahoo Boys actually. And they are ruining our nice things.

Oh fun! I hope your eyes heal well friend!
I'm reading S.A. Cosby's latest, All the Sinners Bleed.
P.S. - I feel your pain about the trolls on FB pages and groups. Argh.
Crosby has a voice, doesn't he???
Oh, it is so incredibly sad to see the site overrun like this. It feels like the scene in World War Z when the zombies hit the wall.
I'm reading The Beach At Summerly by Beatriz Williams.
I should add that to my list... I need a good summer read!
Definitely! Her books never disappoint.
I also read The Puzzle Master and loved it! Quite different. Now I'm reading The Lost Book of Eleanor Dare by Kimberly Brock, almost done. It's a good one also.
It *is* different! That’s what’s so fun!
I'm reading Beneath Devil's Bridge by Loreth Ann White. She's a fantastic suspense author, and I hope more people discover her brilliance.
Thank you for the recommendation! New to me…
Her Dying Kiss by Jennifer Chase. I love her stories.
Oh fun!
I'm also experiencing Fourth Wing hangover, but I'm so glad I pulled the trigger and purchased/read it!

I wondered about that one. Wow, JA is a profiling and talented author!
Several have mentioned Fourth Wing so I bought it. Not like I don’t already have 16 books TBR on my Kindle.

The Witch Elm by Tana French
Around the Ocean in 80 Fish and Other Sea Life by Helen Scales
Edenville by Sam Rebelein
From Below by Darcy Coates
Slonim Woods 9: A Memoir by Daniel Barban Levin
The Book of Living Secrets by Madeleine Roux
and just finished Mister Magic by Kiersten White
Lovely list, Brandee! I love Tana’s work, too. The rest are new to me!
I picked up the The Best of Ernest Hemingway and am 3/4 of the way through.
Oh now that’s right up my alley!
