I do not have any specific plans for today, but will be spending time with family over the weekend.
Im currently reading two NetGalley ARCs. One comes out this coming Tuesday, All the Men I’ve Loved Again, by Christine Pride. I am enjoying it. The other is non-fiction - called, Owning It: Our Disabled Childhoods … in Our Own Words. It’s edited by Jen Campbell, James Catchpole, and Lucy Catchpole, and illustrated by Sophie Kamlish. It’s a collection of short stories and essays set to publish in August.
I was lucky to read an ARC of Kerry’s upcoming book, and I absolutely LOVED it.
Hi Jamie — I can’t wait to read Kerry’s! She’s amazing. The other books sound great too — especially Owning It. Might have to check that out! Happy 4th - hope the weekend is lovely!
Our first set of grandkids arrived last Fri and the second set arrived on Wed. We've been having many adventures...horseback riding, going to a lake to swin and fish, checking out our nephews baby goats, 2 get togethers at our house...its been non stop but we love it. I even managed to work one and a half days...haha
LAST SEEN is waiting on my Kindle and I'll be going to that next.
I didn't read THE BETTER SISTER, but I watched the series and I loved it!
ATMOSPHERE was so good...I think i read it in 2 days.
ONE DARK WINDOW was very good....different but good.
I pre-ordered Kerry Lonsdales new book. I'm so sorry to hear about her son. It's a terrible thing to lose a child. Our nieces 28 year old daughter died last week and it was horrible. The outpouring of love was incredible. The church was literally standing room only and it made my heart very happy.
I'm about halfway through SHIPPED by Angie Hockman and its very good.
Getting ready to go on a side be side ride with the grandkids....happy 4th everyone!!
Happy 4th - and so happy you're getting to see both sets of grandkids. That's wonderful!
And the outpouring of love-it's a good lesson in letting the people we love know how much we care for them before they're gone. I'm so sad for Kerry -- and for your niece. It's an impossible situation. But you're right--the community's support is everything right now.
I'll do ATMOSPHERE first then. I need inspiration!!!
I was writing my Substack on the 4th. Got your book on First Reads. Will read and review soon!
Hope you love it!!! 🥰
This week has been a year.
Happy Reading, Y’all!
This week’s list:
A Drop Of Corruption by Robert Jackson Bennett
No Rest For The Wicked by Rachel Louise Adams
A Poisoner's Tale by Cathryn Kemp
With a Vengeance by Riley Sager
I love With a Vengeance. It was a great homage to Agatha Christie.
Fabulous. Thank you!
It’s been a really awful week, hasn’t it? All we can do is reach out with love and peace.
Tell me how you like Vengeance - I’m interested!
