Glad you made it to FL to see your parents. Childhood memories are the best! My husband and I try really hard to create fun memories with our grandkids...just for this reason.

Funny that FL is having record high temps. It's been unreasonably cool here in southeast Nebraska.

I agree that AI has many uses, but creative pursuits is not one of them!

This week I read FOUR WEEKENDS AND A FUNERAL by Ellie Palmer. New to me author and it was cute.

I also read THE LOVE HATERS by Katherine Center....such a good book. I love all of her books!

I started THE SCROLLS OF TIME yesterday. Excited to see how the series wraps up.

Everyone have a safe and happy Memorial Day weekend!

Happy to hear you’re enjoying your visit. Great list of recommendations several of which are on my list.

I have an ARC of Hot Wax and loved Graveyard Shift!

If you read The Atlantic article about the ChatGPT book rec fiasco, you might have seen a shout out to my library!

“(A librarian at the Park Ridge Public Library accessed an archive for us and confirmed that Buscaglia had worked for the paper.)”

When the journalist from The Atlantic called to confirm Mr. Buscaglia’s mention of working for a Park Ridge newspaper 30 years ago, no one had mentioned him as the “author” of the list yet. So I had no idea there was a connection. Damon Beres, the journalist, was very polite on the phone. Bonus for fact checking! Lol

If anyone wants to see the Atlantic article, let me know. It’s usually paywalled but I have a pdf. brancrisp at gmail

This week’s list:

L.A. Coroner: Thomas Noguchi and Death in Hollywood by Anne Soon Choi

Puzzle Me A Murder by Rosalind Noonan

Queen B (Her Majesty’s Royal Coven #0.5) by Juno Dawson

We’ll Prescribe You a Cat by Syou Ishida with Emmie Madison Shimoda

The Wishing Pool and Other Stories by Tananarive Due
