Duck River is just such a lovely shop! I was just saying to Cliff the other day we're overdue for a family day trip to Columbia. I've got several favorite shops down there that always bring me such delight to visit!
I know, and that's such a fun time! I'm actually heading down there Saturday for a REAL ID appointment which I ever-so-conveniently scheduled during a time I could go alone and take my time hitting all my spots!
I'm currently reading Beach Vibes by Susan Mallery and enjoying it a lot. Family drama, relationships between family and friends and mre with her signature style. So good. Your trip sounds like it was a lot of fun!
I would *love* a copy of Last Seen! I have a great TBR pile, just waiting for some pain to pass so I can focus. You look tan and vibrant! I’m always fish belly pale. 😄
It’s been quite a week. I started it off with a sinus infection and an ear infection with a ruptured ear drum. Then I got pink eye. But on the plus side today is the first day of spring break, I’m off work for 10 whole days!! I finished the absolute knock out that is Scrolls of Time. Such a perfect ending for Jayne and company. I’m starting House of Bone and Rain by Gabino Iglesias today. I need a little break from my kindle. Then I’m starting Last Seen, which I can’t wait for.
What a great trip! My coworker and I both finished The Spellshop by Sarah Beth Durst, which was an absolute 5-star delight. We also finished The Fellowship of Bakers & Magic, a magical Great British Bake Off of sorts. I started the next Fellowship book, and this one is a little like Beauty and the Beast, with an adorable baby dragon and a handsome, kind gargoyle. LOL
I finally finished The Note by Alafair Burke. Despite my initial confusion over who was who, it rapidly got easier and better. It was a great, twisty thriller that I enjoyed.
This week's list:
A Fellowship of Librarians & Dragons by J. Penner
A Guide to the Birds of East Africa by Nicholas Drayson
I Remember You: A Ghost Story by Yrsa Sigurðardóttir
What a lovely list and the fellowship of bakers sounds great! Thanks for the thoughts on The note. I’m excited to dive in. And yay for Sean’s new book!!!!
I finished SUNRISE AT THE REEPING by Suzanne Collins. This is a HUNGER GAMES prequel and tells the story of Haymitch. It's bloody, it's violent, it's heart wrenching, but oh so good...and you get a glimpse as to how Haymitch becomes the sad, drunken person you see in THE HUNGER GAMES.
No exciting plans this weekend and the weather has somewhat settled down....as in no blizzards...but we are headed into our tornado season.
We are outlined for some crappy tornado weather Sunday night, so boo, hiss on that.
I bought SUNRISE at Duck River, and I can’t wait to read. I’ve not done a great job of setting aside reading time lately, so I’m working on realigning my schedule this afternoon!
I'm happy to hear you're doing events again. I am super jealous of your book mail :-). We were on vacation so the only book I've read in 2 weeks (!) is Red River Road by Anna Downes. It was an odd coincidence that I read a book about some of the places in Australia we had just visited! Now I'm trying to overcome jetlag and get back on American time.
I’m reading Patti Callahan Henry’s The Story She Left Behind… it’s breathtaking and immersive and gorgeous. A literary mystery, a book about language … just wonderful!

I feel so bad for them - Mule Days really got rained out!!! I love the home goods shop on the corner, too, Smith & York. Such fun stuff!

I read The Spellshop a few months ago. It was different and cute!
Holding off on starting The Enchanted Greenhouse which focuses on the creation of Caz!
Sounds like a fun but busy time!

Australia - that sounds AMAZING! When you’re less jet lagged share some of the trip highlights with us.
When I find the time, I will!

Just wonderful is it exactly. Patti is a gem, both as a friend and as a writer!
