Yes, it's been quite a week. ~ I finished A VERY BAD THING. I couldn't put it down and carried a copy around airports. (Usually I read books on the Kindle app while traveling.) 👏💖 I loved it. ~ And thank you 😊 so much, you know for what. I very much appreciate it. ~ I will write my review soon and post it everywhere.

I would love to hear what you you think of You Know What You Did. It’s at the top of my to buy list..

Really enjoying it! There is a lot of OCD behavior which may be triggers for some people. The main character obsesses over germs, dirt, and contamination. I have seen a few readers unable to finish it because of that. There is also a pet death.

Thanks for the latter warning.

My heart hasn't been into reading this week. It's been crazy for sure as I had a birthday the night before the election. Despite the heightened tension I had a lovely day and a nice dinner with tableside guac with my family. Oh and I finished HEIR. Five stars all the way

Table side guac… now I’m rethinking my dinner choices. Yum! Happy birthday too!

It has been a week alright. At least 8 days of school in 5. 😵‍💫😂. I’m starting Eriq La Salle’s Laws of Wrath this weekend. Today after work I’m doing not one but 2 things… One doesn’t start until 9:30. Wish me luck!

That sounds like a busy week--and weekend! Take a few breaths, okay? : )

I work for a radio station and I'm so glad for the political craziness to be over!

I love Emily Henry and Funny Story was excellent!

I finished THE CROWNS FATE by Evelyn Skye last night. It was the second book in the duology but it took me a week to read it...which tells me it was too slow and didn't keep my interest.

Going back to my job at the radio station....we still have 2 football teams in the race for state playoffs. They play tonight. Also, we have a local volleyball team that made it to state and won their first game! It makes my life slightly chaotic to schedule these games to be on our station, but I love it!!

Dang, I was hoping you'd have a book that you loved this week so I would have my next read. Wishing you lots of rest and for work to settle down.

Well I did start THIS SUMMER WILL BE DIFFERENT by Carley Fortune. This is a new to me author. It's a romance and I'm really enjoying it. Fairly quick read.

Thanks for the rec. I'll check it out.

That sounds like an absolute blast! I miss those days of the radio collective. And yay for volleyball - my best sport!

I'm doing a line edit and the deadline is looming so I get to disappear into Baja California every day. That helps! I loved your book but I'm behind on writing my usual book reviews. Maybe next week!

Expand full comment

Oh, Baja! Someplace I've never been - would love to do that someday. I hope it's restful and productive!

Gonna DM you about that.

Once the lights are put up outside tomorrow morning and the rain comes in the afternoon, I plan to tuck in with a blanket and a cup of tea to finish the pink book! Just a couple chapters left! (Btw, hate that I had to miss the Parnassus event for work — I’m glad it went well!)

I’m still nowhere near to feeling “caught up” on life (and read-along readings), so reserving the rest of this weekend’s rainy reading time to do just that!

One of our neighbors did their lights early, too, and I'm debating. I mean, why not? It makes everything so pretty... And you too get some rest and rejuvenate. It's really been a rough few months!

I'll be finishing Dark Matter, which it took me far too long to read, and final polish of a psychological thriller. Getting ready to submit it!

Great book and I agree with Barb, the show is really fun.

I loved Dark Matter!

It's really good so far! I very much enjoy sci fi thrillers.

I’m glad you like it! They made it a TV show but I haven’t seen it.

I saw that apple picked it up. The only service I don't have🤦‍♀️ But it's a good dream for authors to have - seeing a book on tv or in film. One day! (I hope)
