So awesome and inspirational! Thank you for sharing. I've been choosing 'My Word for the Year' for the past 12 years. It helps me focus when I lose perspective. This year it is 'Stability.' Something I desperately need. 🤗🩷

Thank you! Happy new year to everyone here! I'm trying to get a blog started for my writing group and a personal blog started ... while also writing a short story and editing the manuscript of my first book (in a planned series - I have written 2/3 of the second book but realized I had to get the manuscript for the first book completely edited to the best of my ability first so I could begin the process of querying agents). All while being a part-time attorney working on two non-profit boards and chauffeuring my two kids around. Wish me luck! Unsolicited advice is always welcome, as is pressure to meet my goals! I love the writing community!

You had a very full year in 2024. May your 2025 theme of "Cultivate" result in a bouquet of health and word count! Cheers!

This is so fascinating to read and I’m so grateful you share, J.T. I’m inspired to look at my upcoming year in a new way after a really wonderful year that leaves me a bit… perplexed about what 2025 should have in store. I crave certainty and black / white resolutions but well, I’m sure you know that pans out most of the time. I struggle with the balance of being A Person On the Internet with and also being a deep-working creative writer. To get to that deep work state, I literally have to close the curtains, turn off my phone, and escape The Internet (my own sometimes-but-not-always-necessary distractions). Good food for thought on this NYE. Cheering you on as you tend your beautiful garden!

I will be with you in solitude friend. Never hesitate to reach out during this dark time if you need bolstering. I’m keeping Substack alive and open while stepping away from all other places. Should be very helpful and healthy. It’s harder for you, I think, because YOU are the brand and you have a massive audience. Even more reason to focus on you for a but. Luck and happy new year!!!
