I'm sorry you couldn't make it to Thrillerfest. I heard it's lots of fun. ~ I'm sending lots of positive thoughts and healing vibes to your father-in-law. ~ I read Strangers and very well know what it means when your family falls apart because one person walks out. However, there are some aspects of her story(I don't want to give anything away) that are baffling to me. Right now, I'm reading One Second Away by Rick Mofina. I love his writing style and the way he draws a reader immediately into the story.
Sending lots of healing vibes to your FIL. Make sure you’re taking care of yourself, too.
You might get a kick out of this. Patron calls the library, my coworker answers up in our office. It’s one of our regular elderly patrons. She asks Lori about yeast infections. Lori tells her she’s not a doctor but she can give her information from the Mayo Clinic website. Several long minutes later we hear Lori say, “No. I don’t think eating bread has anything to do with it.” We almost fell out of our chairs. 🤣 It was just one more wacky moment from this very long week.
Happy Mother’s Day to all the moms and non-moms! You all deserve to be celebrated! 💐
Here is this week’s list:
The Baby Dragon Bakery by A.T. Qureshi
The Man Made of Smoke by Alex North
The Oracle's Daughter by Harrison Hill
Rose of Jericho by Alex Grecian
Solace House by Will Maclean
Z: A Novel of Zelda Fitzgerald by Therese Anne Fowler
I absolutely love this story. - not only because it’s funny but also goes to show you our local librarians are the very best resources - for EVERYTHING!!!
I hope you are recovering well. Sending you ALLLLL the healing vibes. My reading has been minimal this week, school has kicked my butt. On Tuesday Fury Bound came out and I’m looking forward to spending my weekend with it.
I’m so sorry you have to navigate your way through healthcare again. I’ve learned you have to be your own advocate.
Strangers was gut-wrenching. I couldn’t believe the husband was just “done.” Caller Unknown is on my TBR. I loved All the Pretty Girls and can’t wait to read 14!
This month I’m reading books by Asian-American authors for Asian-American/Pacific Islander month.
Sounds like you've had a week. Navigating health care in the current climate is challenging to say the least. Hope everything turns out okay.
I read CONFROM by Ariel Sullivan so I immediately had to get the prequel BENEATH. CONFORM was an excellent book, but BENEATH was even better in my opinion. Set a couple of hundred years before CONFORM...I just felt the story and characters were more compelling in BENEATH. Now I need a sequel to BENEATH!
I'm about halfway through OUR PERFECT STORM by Carley Fortune. Her books just make me happy and make me want to travel to Canada! 🇨🇦
My granddaughter graduates from high school this Sun. She's studying criminal justice and then going to law school. Super proud of her!
I finally took the plunge and got a smart watch. I always thought they were stupid...haha...until my boss got one and I was obsessed. I've had it for 3 days and I'm not sure how I survived without it all these years?!?
Happy Mother's Day everyone. Im fortunate to still have my Mom. She's 81 and in good health

Thanks Olivia. He’s definitely getting better in increments.
Send me a dm with the baffling parts. I’m so curious now!

Happily for once it’s not me!!! I’ve passed the vibes on to my FIL. Much appreciated!!!
I’m still reading FB. It’s good but I’m having trouble focusing. Shocking. 😂
I’m sorry to hear of your struggles. I’m glad you getting through it. Take care of yourself while you’re going through all this.
Am doing. We have a great system and he’s doing better today!

Thank you Barb. You’re right. We have learned how to advocate for our family and it helps so much. They’re taking good care of my FIL.
Strangers really is a hard but beautiful read.

Gosh it is Mother’s Day this weekend! Thanks for the reminder!
Glad to hear BENEATH is good! Excited to read it now.
I saw a story on Carley this morning. She seems like a firecracker.
Happy graduation weekend!!!
